Magic Hospital is in the lucky position to find dedicated professionals and volunteers who are committed to bring smiles on children’s faces.  The performers are and paid staff as to ensure quality, consistency and continuation.

The team in Shanghai is our latest addition to the MH family and active since September 2006 starting with a pilot project in the Shanghai Children's Medical Center has been successfully launched.

The brush and color artist

Daming Ning is from Hunan province.  He graduated from China Eastern Normal University in 1990, with a bachelor's degree in art.  He taught art class in university and middle schools for a few years, and now is working as an artist and designer with his own studio.  Daming has a very open personality and strong love for kids.  It is this passion that enabled him to do a good job in Magic Hospital.  He has been working in Shanghai Children's Medical Center since the beginning in September 2006 and the Kids just love him.

Volunteer staff - behind the scenes

Wendy Zhang is a marketer in pharmaceutical industry.  She has always had strong interest in interacting with kids and helping kids in need.  Born and raised in China, Wendy completed her graduate degree in Medicine and MBA from Harvard Medical School and Boston University.  During her stay in the US, she volunteered in NAMI (National Alliance for Mentally Ill) in the New Jersey Chapter.  Inspired by the concept and work of Magic Hospital, Wendy joined Magic Hospital in June of 2006 in Beijing, and then opened the Shanghai chapter in September of 2007 after her family moved to Shanghai.  She is currently leading the Shanghai team.

Lois Zhu is student from Shanghai International Studies University major in English.    Born and raised in Shanghai , China, Lois completed her college in Business Management in Marketing  and a major in English at SISU.  As a student she worked as a part-time teacher for Chinese for foreigners and English language to Chinese children. Being also a Shanghai native dialect speaker, she works as a English tourist guide part-time. Lois has always had strong interest in interacting with kids and helping kids in need and joined Magic Hospital in Sep. of 2006 in Shanghai. She is currently in charge for the SMSC project.
