Strength and endurance may not be the first thing that comes to mind when you think of a gravely ill child, but keeping a positive attitude in the face of adversity takes mental stamina. "My Inner Olympics" as a program aiming to reward the children who keep their eye on the prize of good health by offering praise and encouragement.
Certificates are awarded as well as gold medals which were specially designed by the students of the Beijing Arts Academy , School of Design . They are inscribed with the Chinese calligraphy for "Hope is light, hope is courage" on one side and the Magic Hospital logo on the other.
The hospital staff hands over the medals and certificates to the little sick patients who fight their diseases with courage or with a smile and show bravery through the dire circumstances, but also to those who simply need an encouragement during this difficult time and are in need for an emotional booster.
