DanZ Centre's annual charity performance this year, entitled "DanZ ! Around the World", featured over 100 student dancers from Beijing's international community. The first part of the performance was an adapted version of the The Nutcracker, which was performed by dancers as young as 3 years old to adults. The second part featured alternative dances like tap, jazz and hip hop, once again with both kids as young as seven and grown dancers. The house was packed with over 600 people in the audience. This is DanZ Centre's 6th year in raising funds for Magic Hospital; this year, ticket sales generated RMB 16,800.
This wonderful annual fundraiser, held on March 14, 2010, helps Magic Hospital continue to implement and improve its programs in the hospitals. This event also illustrates support for Magic Hospital’s mission among the international community, and the power of kids helping kids. “DanZ! Around the World” not only raised funding for disadvantaged children around Beijing, but also awareness by screening a DVD that illustrates Magic Hospitals work. In another example of generosity, the DanZ Center once more hosted 70 children of a local orphanage to attend the performance. Thank you!
